This is not a defect on the device but a limitation with the accelerometer (orientation sensor), it will only function if the device is held vertically (upright position).

A hard reset can be performed with the usual method of typing in *#7370# and the lock code is needed.

If the lock code has changed, or the customer does not remember it, the following can be done to hard reset the device:

1. Power off the device.
2. Hold the two call keys (red and green) and the camera button, and proceed to power on the device, while holding the three keys (green, red and camera).
3. Keep holding down the 3 keys until after the handshake screen.

A request for country should now be available, and the hard reset should be complete, without the lock code.  Keep in mind, the lock code still remains unchanged (it does not go back to the default 12345).

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Korea model does not have the following features:

• Nokia Maps application
• Pre-installed Music

Select Menu > Settings > Calling > Call and from the following:

• Send my caller ID - Select Yes to show your phone number to the person you are calling. To use the setting agreed upon with your service provider, select Set by network (network service).
• Call waiting - Activate your device to notify you of incoming calls while you are in a call (network service), or check whether the function is activated.
• Reject call with message - Activate rejecting a call with a text message to inform the caller why you could not answer the call.
• Message text - Write the standard text message that is sent when you reject a call.
• Own video in recvd. call - Select to allow or deny video sending during a video call from your device.
• Image in video call - If video is not sent during a video call, you can select a still image to be displayed instead.
• Automatic redial - Set your device to make a maximum of 10 attempts to connect the call after an unsuccessful call attempt. To stop automatic redialling, press the end key.
• Show call duration - Set the length of a call to be displayed during the call.
• Summary after call - Set the length of a call to be displayed after the call.
• Speed dial - Activate speed dialling.
• Anykey answer - Activate anykey answer.

• Line in use - This setting (network service) is shown only if the SIM card supports two subscriber numbers, that is, two phone lines. Select which phone line you want to use for making calls and sending text messages. Calls on both lines can be answered irrespective of the selected line. If you select Line 2 and have not subscribed to this network service, you are not able to make calls. When line 2 is selected, is shown in the home screen.
• Line change - Select to prevent line selection (network service), if supported by your SIM card. To change this setting, you need the PIN2 code.

This issue has been fixed in the latest version of PC Suite (7.1.30.8)

Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Network >Network mode, select Dual mode and operator selection Automatic.

Note: Verify the 3G network coverage of the place or location from your operator or service provider, as the phone only receives what the network frequency has on that particular area.

Please press on the first key on your phone (Green) for  a while and select 'activate'.

Or open dialer, press and hold number "1" and enter the voice mail box number.

There are several different ways which you can use to enter letters, numbers, and special characters in your device. You can either tap the characters with stylus or your fingers with the virtual keyboards, or you can use handwriting to write characters directly onto the screen using the stylus as a pen.

To start writing, just tap any text input field.
Change the Input mode by tapping the keyboard-icon. The different input methods are:
Handwriting – Use the stylus as a pen to write text. To write common characters and numbers, write the words as you normally write them.
Mini QWERTY keyboard and Full screen QWERTY – Tap on the keys of the keyboard with the stylus or with your fingers in full-screen mode.
Alphanumeric keypad – Enter characters like you would with a traditional phone keypad.

When you tap an item, the current input method view closes and the selected one opens.
When you have written the text, select the green V icon to close the keyboard.
Note, that in on-screen keyboard arrow pointing to left [<--] represents the backspace, which is usually marked in mobile phones as C. In handwriting the backspace gesture is a short horizontal line – drawn from right to left.
